ในปี 2025 เป็นครั้งแรกของพวกเรา OAA (Out & About Architects) ที่ได้ไปออกนิทรรศการ Time Existence Space 2025 ที่ Venice Italy จัดโดย European Cultural Centre โดยในธีมหลักปีนี้คือหัวข้อ Repair, Regenerate, and Reuse. ปฎิเสธไม่ได้ว่าเรื่อง Climate Change เป็นหัวข้อที่เราหลีกเลี่ยงที่จะพูดถึงในปี 2025 ไม่ได้ และสตูดิโอเล็กๆ ของเราที่ยังอยู่ในช่วงตั้งไข่และทำงานกับอากาศร้อนชื้นแบบประเทศไทยเป็นหลัก ก็ยังอยากทำอะไรสนุก ๆ ในห้องแคบ ๆ ในตึก Palazzo Bembo.
In 2025, OAA (Out & About Architects) participated in the Time Existence Space 2025 exhibition in Venice, Italy, for the first time. Hosted by the European Cultural Centre, this year’s main theme was “Repair, Regenerate, and Reuse. There’s no denying that climate change is an unavoidable topic in 2025. Our small, fledgling studio, which primarily works with Thailand’s hot and humid climate, wanted to create something fun within the narrow space of a room in the Palazzo Bembo building.

This led to the topic Reimagine Palazzo Bembo: Living with Heat in a Changing World with 5 Points of Tropical Architecture. It was a fun thought exercise about a changed future: if we had the chance to renovate Palazzo Bembo, what design ideas would we propose to adapt to the changes?
ด้วยความที่ทีมของเราโตในประเทศไทยที่มีภูมิอากาศร้อนชื้น เราเคยชินกับภูมิอากาศทรอปิคอลมาโดยตลอด จากรีเสิร์ชพบว่าในอนาคต ภูมิอากาศร้อนชื้นที่เคยกระจุกตัวกันในแถบเส้นศูนย์สูตรมีแนวโน้มว่าจะขยายกินพื้นที่ใหญ่ขึ้นไปถึงเวนิสที่ปัจจุบันมีภูมิอากาศแบบเมดิเตอร์เรเนียน นอกจากนั้นเกาะเวนิสก็กำลังประสบปัญหาน้ำท่วมจากการขึ้นสูงของระดับน้ำทะเลเช่นเดียวกับกรุงเทพ เมืองหลวงของประเทศไทย
Due to our team’s background in Thailand’s hot and humid climate, we are very familiar with tropical weather. Research shows that in the future, the tropical climate currently concentrated around the equator is likely to expand, extending its reach to Venice, which today has a Mediterranean climate. Additionally, Venice is facing rising sea levels and floods, a problem shared with Bangkok, Thailand’s capital.
ในช่วงแรกของโปรเจคนี้ พี่ขวัญ จาก DOF SkyGround ได้ช่วยเก็บภาพคอลเล็คชั่น ‘การอยู่ร่วมกับความร้อนชื้นอย่างกรุงเทพ’ เพื่อเป็นรีเสิร์ชในการสังเกตการปรับตัวในการอยู่กับความร้อนภายในมหานครขนาดใหญ่ (Mega City)
For the initial phase of this project, Chaovarith Poonphol from DOF SkyGround helped document a collection on “Living with Humidity in Bangkok.” The research aimed to observe how people adapt to living with heat in a large metropolitan area.

ในส่วนของนิทรรศการหลัก เราจินตนาการถึงคำถามว่าถ้าตึก Palazzo Bembo ต้องปรับตัวในอากาศร้อนชื้นจะมีหน้าตาเป็นยังไง? ผนังที่มีความสำคัญทางประวัติศาสตร์จะหายใจเพื่อระบายความร้อนได้ยังไงบ้าง? ทำยังไงภายในตึกถึงจะเย็นลงอย่างธรรมชาติ? ทีม OAA ลองตัดแปะ Design Strategy 5 ข้อลงบน collage และเรียกมันเล่น ๆ ว่า 5 Points of Tropical Architecture โดยเบื้องต้นเราลองใช้มันเป็น Core idea หลักในการดีไซน์ในทีมเล็ก ๆ ของเราที่อยากจะแชร์กับสาธารณะเพื่อเห็นความเป็นไปได้ในการพัฒนาในอนาคตออกมาในงานนี้ด้วย
As part of the main exhibition, we explored a central question: what would Palazzo Bembo look like if it had to adapt to a hot and humid climate? How could its historically significant walls breathe to release heat? What would it take for the interior to cool down naturally? The OAA team experimented with a collage of five design strategies, playfully calling them the “5 Points of Tropical Architecture.” We used these as the core ideas for our small team’s design proposal, which we were excited to share with the public to show the possibilities for future development.
